Why do Muslims have to celebrate Eid Milad un-Nabi when it’s clearly not mentioned in the Quran?

We are Celebrating 90 Days Long Mawlid-an-Nabi Swallallahu ‘alaihi wa Sallam – Grand Mahfil at Rajarabag Shreef, Dhaka.

Sacred Eid-e-Milad, Habibullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam is a completely an act in accordance with the Sunnah Sharif.

Eid-E- Milad Habibullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam is not a new practice. Remember that the last Rasool Habibullah Huzoor Pak sallallahu alaihi wa sallam himself discussed his Biladat Sharif.

It is stated in the sacred Sahih Hadith Sharif,

Meaning:

Narrated by Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Umar Radiyallahu Tayala Anhuma. He said, Allah’s Habib, Huzoor Pak sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said that when Allah created the creatures, He chose Bani Adam chose them as the best of all creatures. He chose Bani Adam as eth best among all human beings. Between Bani Adam, The Arabs are liked as the best. Mudar among the Arabs, Quraish among tgeh Mudar , Bani Hashim among the Quraish and I am chosen as the best among the Bani Hashim. Surely I am the best of the best.

(Bayhaqvi Sharif, Tabrani Sharif, Khachayishul Kubra, Abu Naeem)

Noor E Mujassam, Habibullah, Huzoor Pak Sallallhu Alaihi Wa ‍Sallam himself has observed his Biladat Sharif (Birthday)

Sayyidul Ayyad Sharif or the greatest Eid, celebrating Eid E Milad E Habibullah sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam is never an innovation or a new thing, those who say innovation, they say it because of their Jihalat (ignorance).

Basically Sayyidul Mursalin, Imamul Mursalin, Habibullah Huzoor Pak Sallallhu Alaihi Wasallam, he himself celebrated his Eid Milad (Habibi Sallallhu Alaihi Wasallam). The day of His sacred Biladat Sharif (Birthday) is Yaomul Ichnain or Monday. He used to fast in gratitude on this day.

Meaning:

“Narrated by Hazrat Abu Qatada Ansari Radiyallahu Tayala Anhu. He said, once Noor E Mujassam, Habibullah Huzoor Pak Sallallhu Alaihi Wasallam, was asked about fasting on Yaomul Ichlainil Azim Sharif and Yaomul Khomis, then Noor E Mujassam, Habibullah Huzoor Pak Sallallhu Alaihi Wasallam, he said that on this day ( Yaomul Ichlainil Azeem Sharif) I revealed the state of my Sacred Biladat (Birthday), and on this day the revelation or the Sacred Quran Sharif was revealed to me.” (Muslim Sharif: Hadith Sharif No. 2807, Abu Dawud Sharif: Hadith Sharif No. 2428, Sunan Kubra Li Bayhaqvi Sharif: Hadith Sharif No. 8217, Ibn Khuzayma Sharif: Hadith Sharif No. 2117, Musnad Abi Awana: Hadith Sharif No. 2926, Musnad Ahmad Sharif : Hadith Sharif No. 22603)

It is known from the Sacred Hadith Sharif that Sacred Monday is the day of Sayyidul Mursalin, Imamul Mursalin, Khatamun Nabiyeen, Noor E Mujassam Habibullah Huzoor Pak Sallallhu Alaihi Wasallam, and ceremonially the day of revelation of Prophethood. There is an indication of fasting on this day in the Sacred Hadith Sharif.

This also proves that joys and mirht should be expressed or observed on the day of Biladati Shan Mubarak (Birthday). Because the Sacred Prophet, Habibullah Huzoor Pak Sallallhu Alaihi Wasallamhimself used to fast in gratitude for his arrival. Habibullah celebrated his arrival day on the occasion of his arrival.

And keeping this fast is considered as the basis for observing Eid E Milad Habibullah by the greatest Imam Hazrat Jalaluddin Suyuti Rahmatullahi Alaihi and Imam Ibn Hajar Askalani Rahmatullahi Alaihi. The document is mentioned below: “And the significance of places and times are based on the acts of worship performed in them, which Allah PAK has specified with them, that is, with those times and places. Because, it is well known that the greatness (bijurgi) of space and time is not (ever) due to those entities, but these bijurgis(greatness) are acquired because of the internal virtures (or relations, etc.) with which this space and time are determined or fixed. Now look at those features and blessings that Allah Ta’ala has specified with the month of Rabiul Awal and Monday. Have you not seen that fasting on Monday has great virtue? Because, Beladat Sharif (Birth) of Habibullah Huzur Pak Sallallhu Alaihi Wasallam- happened on this day. So when this month comes, it should be given due respect and importance to this month, and – follow the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Because, he had a sacred habit that he used to pray more during the auspicious times and give more charity.

In this context I (Imam Jalaluddin Suyutvi) have come up with a principle for Milad (validity). That is – Imam Baihaqi (Rahmatullahi Alaihi) narrated from Hazrat Anas Radiyallahu Ta’ala Anhu that the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam performed his own aqeeqah after the revelation of Prophethood, while his respected grandfather Hazrat Abdul Muttalib alaihis salam on the seventh day of his Beladat Sharif(Birthday). And aqeeqah cannot be done in second time. So the reason for this Aqeeqah Mubarak can be said to be that he did it to thank Allah Almighty for making him ‘Rahmatallil A-Lamin’ (Mercy to all the worlds) and to make it lawful for the Ummah (followers) to thank Allah for His blessings he performed aqeeqah mubarak again.

For example he on himself used to recite Durood. So we should also thank Almighty Allah by gathering people, feeding them and expressing happiness in other valid ways. Hazrat Ibn Hajar Askalani Rahmatullahi Alaihi Alaihi has given documents of the two fasts of the sacred Ashura Sharif as the basis for observing the sacred Eid E Milad Habibullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam. He said this fast is observed as a form of thanksgiving. Thanking Almighty Allah for His blessings can be done in different ways. By fasting, prostrating, praying, giving charity. And Huzur Pak Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam is the greatest blessing.” (Husnul Maqashid Fi Amalil Mawlid 63, Al Habi Lil Fatwa 105, Subul Huda War Rashad Volume 1 366 pages, Hujjatullahi Alal Alamin 237 pages)

From the above discussion, it is proved celebrating Eid E Milad Habibullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam is not an innovation (bidyat) rather a special Sunnah Mubarok by expressing happiness for receiving Huzur Pak Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam

12 Rabiul Awal Sharif is the day to express heartiest happiness for the Ummah

A class of people of invalid Firka people deny the sacred Sayyidul Ayyad Sharif that means Sayyid E Eid Azam, Sayyid E Eid Akbar, the sacred Eid E Milad E Habibullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam (Peace Be Upon Him) and resort to a deception to deceive the common people. They say, “The Prophet’s (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) death day is a sad day, and expressing happiness on a sad day is wrong.” Nauzubillah.

The fact is that this statement of the nullified sects is completely false and it being out of the Sacred Qur’an Sharif and the Holy Hadith Sharif, it has become blasphemous. Because Biladat Sharif (Birth), Bishal Sharif (Death) and the resurrection of Prophet-Rasul Alaihimus Salam is the cause of manifestation of mercy, blessing, Eid or happiness Mubarak. Subhanallah!

For example, Almighty Allah has blessed Hazrat Isa Ruhullah Alaihis Salam regarding him,

Meaning: Peace be upon him on the day he was born and on the day he will accept death and on the day he will be resurrected!” (Surah Maryam Shareef: Verse 15) Similarly, it has been said about Hazrat Yahya Alaihis Salam, which he himself said:

وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَىَّ يَوْمَ وُلِدْتُّ وَيَوْمَ اَمُوْتُ وَيَوْمَ اُبْعَثُ حَيًّا

Meaning: Peace be upon me on the day I attain Biladat Shareef (birth), on the day I attain Bichal Shareef (demise), on the day I shall be resurrected!” (Surah Maryam Shareef: Verse 33) From the above verses, we have come to know that the day of the death of the Prophets (peace be upon him) is also a day of peace.–

And in the Holy Hadith Sharif, Huzoor Pak Sallallahu Alahi Wasallam said.

Meaning: My Hayat-Bisal (Death) is a cause of good or good or food blessing for you in all situations. (Evidence – Kanjul Ummal Sharif: Hadith 31903, Jamiuch Chagir 3770, Shifa Sharif 2nd volume 19 pages) The said Hadith Sharif is authentic. It was seen that the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam himself is saying- the day of bisal sharif is also auspicious. Besides, it has been narrated more in the sacred Hadith Sharif-

Meaning: The best of your days is the day of Jumu’ah. On this day Hazrat Adam Alaihis Salam was created and on this day he passed away!” (Nasa’i Sharif – Kitabul Jumu’ah: Hadith 1385, Muslim Sharif – Kitabul Jumu’ah: Hadith 855, Tirmidhi: Hadith 491, Musnad Ahmad: 8954, Hadith Number 89 Ibn Majah: Hadith 1705, Sunan Abu Dawud – Kitabus Salat: Hadith 1047, Ibn Khuzaymah : Hadith 1632) . the this Friday has been announced as the day of Eid-

Meaning: This Friday is such a day that Almighty Allah has declared as the day of Eid. (Ibn Majah: Hadith number 1198, Muatta Malik- Kitabut Tawharat: Hadith number 144, Bayhaqvi: Hadith 1303, Ma’ariful Sunan wal Ashar Bayhaqvi: Hadith 1802, Musnad Shafi’i: Hadith 268, Muzamul Awasat Tabrani 3433, Mishkat Shareef) It is proved from from the sacred Hadith Sharif that although Jumua is the day of Bisal Sharif (Deaht) of Allah Pak’s Prophet and messenger Hazrat Adam Alaihis Salam, Allah Pak Himself has announced that day as day of happiness.

Now what will the misguided Wahhabis/Deobandis say that Almighty Allah Pak and His Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam have done wrong by celebrating day of Bichal Sharif as Eid day?? Nowzubillah Min Jalik! They will never be able to say yes, because the arrival of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and Bishal Sharif are both happy or Eid days! Those who say the day of mourning or distress will be among the deniers of the Holy Qur’an and the Holy Hadith.

Also, the decision of the honorable Shariat is that mourning cannot be expressed for more than three days after someone’s death. About which the Holy Hadith Sharif has been narratied-

Meaning: “Narrated by Hazrat Ummu Atiyyah Radiyallahu Tayala Anha, She said, We are forbidden to express mourning after three days after the death of someone. But Ahlia can mourn for her husband for four months and ten days.” (Muatta Malik Sharif, Bukhari Sharif : Kitabut Talaq : Hadith Sharif No. 5341, Muslim Sharif : Kitabut Talaq : Hadith Sharif No. 1493, Abu Dawud Sharif, Nasa’i Sharif, Tirmidhi Sharif, Ibn Majah Sharif, Darimi Sharif, Mishkat Sharif)

Therefore It was seen that after 3 days of death, no mourning can be observed. If someone observes mourning even after 3 days of someone’s death, it will be against honorable Shariah. It will be considered as contradiction against Hadith Sharif. And the most important thing is that Habibullah Huzoor Pak Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is Hayatunnabi (eternal alive). He is alive in the Holy Rawza Sharif. Mourning on the occasion of his Holy Bisal Sharif is a clear misguidance and denial of Hayatunnabi.

It is said in the sacred Hadith Sharif,

Meaning: “Hazrat Nabi-Rasul Alaihimus Salam (Prophets) are alive in their graves, they perform Salah.” “Since the martyrs are proved to be alive on the basis of evidence, the Qur’an Sharif has a clear explanation of it, so the prophets will be alive. Because they are better than martyrs.” (Fathul Bari-6/288).

It is said in the sacred Hadith Sharif,

Meaning: Narrated by Hazrat Abu Darda Radiyallahu Tayala Anhu. Verily the Exalted AllahPak has forbidden the gorund to eat the Jisim Mubarok (body) of eh prophets and messengers of Allah Pak. Therefore, the Nabi Rasul Alaihimus Salam of Allah Pak are alive and well-fed. (Ibn Mazah Sharif: Hadith Sharif No. 1636, Sunane Darimi: Hadith Sharif No. 1572, Mishkat Sharif, Jalaul Afham 63 pages, Tazkiratul Huffaz: Hadith Sharif No. 1085)

It is also mentioned in the Kitab (kitab)-

Meaning: “Surely Noor Mujassam, Habibullah Huzoor Pak Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is alive in Rawza Mubar.” (Meerkat Sharif 2nd Volume 223 Pages)

The famous Muhaddis Allama Imam Mulla Ali Qari Rahmatullahi Alaihi said –

Meaning: “There is no death, no extinction for Noor Mujassam, Habibullah Huzoor Pak Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.” Rather, moving from one place to another place and migrating from one house to another house. The sure belief is that Noor Mujassam, Habibullah Huzoor Pak Sallallahu Alahi Wasallam is (alive) in Hayat Mubarak and is receiving honorable sustenance.” (Sharhush Shifa Sharif 1st Bh-, page 152, Mirkat Sharif)

Not only that, Maahiuddin, the editor of monthly Madina, Deobandi’s Murubbi, wrote, Hazrat Abul Mawahib Shazali Rahmatullahi Alaihi narrates – once I met Huzoor Sallallahu Alahi Wasallam in a dream. He said about himself – I am not dead. The matter of my going to the Hereafter is such that I am a resident of the Hereafter hidden from the sight of those who are deprived of the spiritual knowledge given by Allah. But among those who have the spiritual knowledge given by Allah, I am alive to them. They meet me as I see them. [Tabakatul Cobra] (Evidence – Sopnojogy Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, 68 pages, Medina Publications)

In the light of the narrated Hadith Sharif, it is proved that all the Prophets and messenge3rs are alive in tehir Rowza Sahrif. The Prophet of all the Prophets, the Messengers of the Messengers, Habibullah Huzur Pak Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is alive in is Rowza Shafir. So how can it be said that 12 Rabiul Awal Sharif is a day of mourning? Nauzubillah!! How can mourning day be observed for Hayatunnabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam? Those who do not believe in Hayatunnabi, are the deniers of Saheeh Hadith Sahrif. Then they say 12 Robiul Awal Sharif is a day of mourning.

Therefore, it is proved by the irrefutable evidence of the honorable Shariat, that it is not possible for anyone to consider the day of Bisal Sharif of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam on the 12th of Rabiul Awal Sharif as a day of mourning!! Those who talk about mourning will deny the Holy Qur’an Sharif and the Holy Hadith Shafif, the Holy Ijma and the Holy Qiyas Sharif and will be unbelievers! Therefore, the day of Biladat Sharif (Birht) of the last Messenger, Habibullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, should be considered as Eid Day!

Celebrating the Eid day

Twelfth (12) Rabiul Awual Shareef is the Happy Day for Ummah.

A class of misguided people deceive the general people denying the sacred Saiyidul Aayaad Shareef means Saiyide Eie-e-Azam, Saiyide Eid-e-Akbar, the most sacred Eid-e-Milade Habeebullah Swalllallahu Alaihi wa Sallam. They tell that the Bichal Shareef (Death) is the sorrow day and expressing Happiness in sorrow day is wrong. Nauzubeellah!

Actually, these words of misguided people are totally false and the word against the Sacred Quran Shareef and Hadith Shareef and a kufree word. Because, the Biladat Shareef, Bichal Shareef, resurrection individually is the day of Rahmat (blessing), Barakat (grace) and Happiness. Subhanallah!

Such as Magnificent Allah Pak declares about Hadrat Isa Ruhullah Alaihis Salam, “Salam (Peace) be upon him on the day he got Biladat (Born), got Bichal (Death) and the day of Resurrection. Ref: Surah Maryam Shareef: the verse shareef-15

Similarly Hadrat Yahyia Alaihis Salam says about himself, “Salam (Peace) be upon me on the day of my Biladat Shareef (Birth), the day of Bichal Shareef (Death) and the day of Resurrection, Ref: Surah Maryam Shareef: the verse Shareef-33

We got to know from the above-mentioned two verses Shareef that the day of Bichal (Death) Shareef of Nabe-Rasul Alaihimus Salam is the day of peace.

And Hudur Pak Swallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam declares in the Hadith shareef, “All the situation like My life-death is the cause of welfare or Barakat or the best” Ref: Kanjul Ummal shareef-31903, Jamius Sageer-3770, Shifa Shareef-19 page of 2nd part.

It is seen that Nabijee Swallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam declares that the Bichal Shareef is also the day of auspicious.

There are more declaration in sacred Hadith Shareef, “Jumuah Day is the best day you pass. Hadrat Adham Alaihis Salam have created on this day and got Bichal Shareef (Death) in the same day. Ref: Nasaye Shareef:Kitabul Jumuah-1385, Muslim Shareef:Kitabul Jumuah-855, Tirmidhi Shareef-491, Musnade Ahmad-8954, Ibn Majah Shareef-1705, Sunane Abu Dawood:Kitabus Salat-1047, Ibn Khujaima-1632

And then this Jumuah Day is declared as Eid day, “This Eid day is such a day which is fixed by Magnificent Allah Pak.”

Ref: Ibn Majah Shareef-1198, Muatta Malik;Kitabut Twaharat-144, Bayhaki-1303, Mayariful Suna wal Asar Bayhaki-1802, Musnade Shafeyee-268, Mujamul Awsat Tabrani-3433, Mishkat Shareef.

It is proved by the sacred Hadith Shareef that Allah Pak fixed the day as a happy day though it is the Bichal (death) Shareef of Nabi and Rasul Hadrat Adham Alaihis Salam and Nabijee Swallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam Himself declares the Jumuah Day as the Happy Day.

Now, will the misguided wahabee or Deobandee say that Magnificent Allah Pak and His Habeeb Swallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam have done wrong to give order to celebrate Eid on His Bichal shareef (Death). Nauzubeellah Min Jalik. They couldn’t say that because both the Biladat (Born) and Bichal (Death) Shareef is the Eid day or Happy day. They will be included in the denier of sacred Quran Shareef and sacred Hadith Shareef.

Besides, expressing sorrows not more than three days after anyone’s death is the decision of honored Shariat. It is declared in the sacred Hadith Shareef about the context, “Hadrat Ummu Atiayah Rawdiallahu Ta’la describes, “It has forbidden to express sorrow over the three days on anyone’s death. But the Ahliya (wife) can express sorrow up to four months and ten days.

Ref: Muatta Malik shareef, Bukahree Sharee:Kitabut Talak-5341, Muslim shareef: kitabut Talak-1493, Abu Dawood Shareef, Nasayee Shareef, Tirmidhi Shareef, Ibne Majah shareef, Darimee Shareef, Mishkat Shareef.

So, it is seen that one couldn’t express sorrow more than three days after anyone’s death. It would be against honored sharia’t and Hadith shareef if any one express sorrow more than three days. Most important thing is that Habeebullah Hudur Pak Swallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam is the Hayatunnabee. He was alive in His Raoja shareef (Grave). It is the cleared gumrahi (wrong way) and likely denier on Hayatunnabee to express sorrow on the Bichal (Death) Shareef of Habeebullah Swallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam.

It is declared in the sacred Hadith Shareef, “Hadrat Nabee-Rasul Alaihimus Salam is alive in their raoja Shareef, they say prayer.”

Ref: Abu Yalla Shareef-3425, Hayatul Ambiya Leel Bayhaki-73 page of 1st part.

Since Shahids (Martyrs) are alive according to Quran Shareef, Nabi-Rasul must alive because they are best of All.
Ref: Fathul Baree-6/288

It is declared in sacred Hadith Shareef- Hadrat Abu Darda Rawdiallahu Ta’la Anhu describes, “Certainly Magnificent Allah Pak have made Haram for land to decompose the Jism (body) of Nabee-Rasul Alaihimus Salam.” So, Hadrat Nabee-Rasul Alaihimus Salam of Magnificent Allah is alive and received of sustenance.

Ref: Ibn Majah Shareef-1636, Sunane Darimee-1572, Mishkat Shareef, Jalaul Afham-63page, Tajkiratul Huffaj-1085

There are more mentioned in Kitab (Book)- “Certainly, Noor-e-Mujassam Habeebullah Swallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam is alive in His Raoja (Grave) Shareef.
Ref: Mirkat Shareef-223 page of 2nd part.

Renowned Muhaddis (Hadith expert) Allama Imam Mulla Ali Qaree Rahmatullahi Alaihi wa Sallam says, “There is no death and destruction for Noor-e-Mujassam Habeebullah Swallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam. Rather He just have transferred from one Mubarak shaan to another Mubarak shaan and made Hidrat from one Mubarak home to another Mubarak home. Surely it is believed that Noor-e-Mujassam Habeebullah Swallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam is in Mubarak Hayat (live) and receiving the sustenance.

Ref: Sharhush shifa Shareef-152 page of 1st part, Mirkat Shareef.

Not only that a senior person of Deoband, editor of Monthly Medina writes- Hadrat Abul Mawaheb Shajalee Rahmatullahi Alaihi describes, “Once I met with Hudur Pak Swallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam in a dream, He said to me, “I am not died, My death is like such matter that I am the dweller of afterlife in the eye of them who are deprived from the Ruhani (spiritual) Knowledge of Allah. But I am alive to them who keep the Ruhani knowledge of Allah. As I seem them, they also met with me.”
Ref: Tabakkatul Kubra, column of Medina Publicaion at 68 pages: Swapnajoge Rasulollah Swallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam.

It is proved by the above-mentioned Hadith Shareef that Nabee-Rasul Alaihimus Salam is alive in their Raoja Shareef and the Nabee of all Nabee, Rasul of all Rasul, Habeebullah Swallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam is alive in His Raoja Shareef. So, how could it be said that twelfth Rabiul Awual is day of Sorrow? Nauzubeellah! Could it be observed the day of Sorrow for Him who is the Hayatunnabee? They who are against the Hayatunnabe and the denier of Sahih Hadith Shareef.claim twelfth Rabiul Awual as a day of sorrow.

Therefore, it is proved by the irrefutable documents of honored Sharia’t that it is impossible to fixed as a day of Sorrow on the Bichal (Death) Shareef of Nabijee Swallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam.

They who claim the day of sorrow are the denier of Sacred Quran Shareef, sacred Hadith Shareef, sacred Izma Shareef and sacred Qias Shareef and they will be the Imanless (Unbeliever).

So, we have to observe the Biladat Shareef Akheri (ever last) Rasul Habeebullah Swallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam as a Niamat (special favor).

History of Celebrating Eid e Meelad e Habibullah (ﷺ)

An grave falsehood that some opponents of Mawlid propagate is the claim that some ignorant people from India and Pakistan of the last few decades have invented the celebrations of Mawlid an-Nabawi Sharif being influenced by the Hindu religion and culture.

They imply that Mawlid was never ever celebrated before in previous ages. So here are some glimpses of facts from actual Islamic history.
